First Time to Receive a Document?
What is this all about?
SwiftSend is an easily used, secure Internet document delivery service. You have received
a document and can view it by clicking the big orange button on the 'document pickup' page (the page you see after
clicking in the notification email you received). The first time you view a document, a viewing program
will be installed as noted below.
System requirements for receiving documents
All you need is a PC running Windows XP or Vista. You also need Internet Explorer (IE 7 or later recommended) or Firefox (Firefox 2.2 or later recommended).
For printing, any working printer will do. See the section titled Problems Printing? if
you have trouble.
What is going to be installed on my computer?
SwiftView is a simple document viewer installed the first time you attempt to view a document.
Installation should take less than 3 minutes using a modem - much less if you have a faster Internet connection.
There is no special download step - just click, wait for completion and it's done. XP installation currently
requires an extra step on occasion, so call or email tech support as noted on the installation page if you have a
problem. During the process your web browser will display a security warning but it is not dangerous to install
this software.
We recommend installing the SwiftView Viewer now if you have not done it before.

Problems Printing?
If you can view but not print, or your printing is flawed in some way, please try these steps. Printing
is optimal on a LaserJet 4 or higher or other PCL compatible printer.
- Get Current:
Make sure you have installed the latest version of the SwiftView Viewer.
- Use the Proper Print Button:
Be sure you are using the 'Print' button in the SwiftView toolbar on
the right side of the screen, NOT File and Print in Internet Explorer or the 'Fast Print' button.
- Reset Your Method:
When you click the print button, you will see a dropdown menu titled 'Print Method'. Click 'Reset to
defaults'.
- Try Different Methods:
If you have more than one print method, try printing using each method available until you are satisified
with the output. Try Direct Print first, if available.
- Exercise Your Options:
If the above doesn't produce good results, or if you only have Windows Print available, click the Options
button. On the options page, try all the possible combinations of settings. As you can see, it
is possible to print a mixed letter and legal document on all one size paper, either shrinking legal pages to
fit on letter, or printing letter pages on legal (resulting in unused space at the bottom of letter pages).
- The Last Resort:
If you can't get anything above to work, contact Technical Support.

Navigation Buttons
The buttons on the medium blue bar near the top and bottom of all screens enable you to move around
between various SwiftSend screens. Not all of these appear on all screens, as noted in each
description.
Inbox
Your Inbox is the list of all documents you have received. You cannot use your Inbox unless
you complete a simple registration process and select a password. Anyone is allowed to register
and obtain a password to access their Inbox - it's easy and free. This is also the password you
will require if you receive completely secure documents.
Outbox
Your Outbox is the list of all documents you have delivered. You must register as a document
originator in a specific workgroup in order to send documents. Document originators cannot register
in a 'workgroup' unless the workgroup administrator has specifically approved them to deliver documents.
Sign Out
This appears only when you are logged in with your own password. Whenever you leave your PC you
should click this to prevent anyone else from viewing your documents while you are gone.
Send Comments
This item is available only on the document viewing screen, providing a method of attaching your comments
to the document you have received. Those comments can be viewed by the document originator (and only
the document originator) in his Outbox.
View My Comments
This item is available only on the document viewing screen, providing a method of viewing the comments
you have previously made on the the document you are viewing.
Info
This provides access to all other information and links on the site, including information about your
specific use of SwiftSend, contacts, site status, technical support, etc.

Document Viewer Buttons
When a recipient clicks the big orange button to view a document, the document is displayed by the SwiftView
'document viewer', which displays a set of command buttons on the right side of the window beside the document.
Either those buttons or keystrokes, as documented under the help button on the right, can be used to control
your view of the document. This is a description of each of those 'viewer' buttons.
All
This button displays the entire document page in the current window.
Wide
This button causes the top of the current document page to be displayed using the full width of the window.
Pressing 'Page Up' and 'Page Down' keys or clicking in the 'shaft' of the scroll bar on the right moves the user
through the document in a natural manner allowing it all to be read.
Rotate
This button rotates the entire current page by 90 degrees. Click 4 times to return to the original page
orientation. This can be useful for unusually formatted documents.
Print
This button displays the standard Windows printer dialog menu.
You must use the 'Print' button if you
are not printing to an HP LaserJet compatible (PCL5) printer.
Fast Print
We recommend that you use Print instead of this button. This button
displays the old SwiftView fast print menu. If you have any laser printer equivalent to
an HP LaserJet 3 or newer, 'Fast Print' gives faster print speed and allows printing of mixed letter
and legal pages. Click 'Fast Print', select your LaserJet printer from the printer list, make sure
'Output type' is PCL5 and click OK.
Help
This button displays information about the SwiftView user interface, including keystrokes.
Numbers and arrows at the bottom of the toolbar
These buttons enable you to page forward and backward whole pages at a time or enter a given page.
You can also 'pull' the scrollbar slider on the right with the mouse to move to any page.

SwiftSend Concepts
SwiftSend is a secure, Internet based system (a 'website') providing electronic delivery of documents and
drawings. Any document which can be printed on an HP LaserJet compatible printer can be delivered to anyone
with Internet access and a Windows PC. Even if you don't own a LaserJet! SwiftSend provides higher
accuracy and smaller document size than any other system available - but everybody says that.
Here is what it really is...
'Document Originators' (people who send documents) print a document from any Windows application
to the SwiftSend website by selecting a printer named SwiftSend (or similar)
from their standard list of printers. SwiftSend installs that printer when you first come and log in.
If you can't select printers from your application, SwiftSend temporarily resets the default printer
solving the problem. SwiftSend uses the actual data that would be sent to an HP LaserJet printer
(even if you don't have one). This data is what actually would print if you sent it to the printer,
so it is inherently more accurate than any other solution. SwiftSend also compresses that data,
so simple business documents are delivered fast! While the document is uploading, originators type an
email 'cover letter' and the email address of their recipients in their web browser.
Once all information is completed and uploaded, SwiftSend sends the email cover letter to all
recipients. SwiftSend adds a link to the email which, when clicked, takes the document recipient
to the SwiftSend website. The recipients simply read the email cover letter and click on the
link at the bottom. That click takes them to a 'document pickup' screen
where they can view the document, get help about how to use it, etc. Clicking the big orange button
on that screen displays the document. The document viewer is installed smoothly as part of this
process if it is not present or if it has been upgraded.
